WELCOME TO ELLE DECOR’S VIRTUAL SPRING 2020 HIGH POINT MARKET
High Point Market is, without a doubt, the most influential interior design event in the United States. The weeklong biannual trade show, which takes place a half hour outside Greensboro, North Carolina, is where decorating trends are born and new collections of furniture, lighting, and floor- and wallcoverings from the country’s greatest brands make their debut. But this spring, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the market that was set to open on April 25 has been canceled—for only the second time in its 111-year history. (The first was in 1942, during World War II.) Yes, this means the who’s who of the design community like Celerie Kemble, Malene Barnett, and Thom Filicia will not be walking miles around a labyrinth of hundreds of beautiful showrooms—fueled by pimento-cheese sandwiches and sweet tea—but America’s vibrant design industry cannot be stopped. So in lieu of the real High Point Market, let this virtual survey be your one-stop shop for the season’s awe-inspiring new introductions from some of ELLE Decor’s favorite brands. And here’s hoping that the Fall 2020 market, currently scheduled for October, can go off without a hitch—in person, the way it should be.
